AHH! A Challenge!

Hello world! It has been way to long! Well first let me say hello to Susie Q! My first follower! WOOHOO! I am so excited that I am not the only one to follow my blog! LOL!

So much has happened since I last blogged! I'm officially divorced! It was a long rollercoaster of a ride but I managed to survive! I'm starting to work on my home again! This is something that I have been wanting to get done for a very long time! I compliment to my big brother that he is such a great expert on remodling homes that maybe he would feel sorry for his poor little sister that he would help! Too bad he lives in another state. HMPF!! Oh well! He can always give some super good advice!

I have given myself a little challenge! I went to the thrift store today and bought some random items. They are items that I usually wouldn't get for myself but I thought, What the Heck! Let's give it a whirl! I think I may use the items on my back porch! All my friends and family use that porch for entrance so I might as well make it as homey as possible! I will post before and after pics when it is complete! I hope it turns out well! I'm sure I'm going to have to paint something to make it more me but who knows! Only time will tell!

My Best Friends Wedding

The wedding bells were ringing!

On January 17, 09 at 3:00 p.m. I got to witness on of my best friends marry the man of her dreams!

The blessing of the marriage was so sweet! The father of the groom officiated the ceremony and also gave his blessing. The son of the bride also was right there to give his blessing as well!

Her dress was absolutely beautiful! She couldn't have picked a better suited dress for herself!
The colors of the wedding were Teal, Gold, and Black!
Go Jaguars!

Her father looked so proud to walk his daughter down the aisle! I don't think you could of found a more proud dad than him at that moment!

At last the wedding was simple and elegant! a reception followed at the church and they drove off into the sunset to start their lives together! Of course, I couldn't end this blog without putting one picture of the bride adjusting her garter!

How has time flown by

Well, lets see. I had a great weekend finally! Went shopping with my cousin Jenn Friday night. It was so nice to get out of the house finally. I had such a good time catching up on things and spending some time with her kiddos as well.

Saturday I went to see a movie with my friend Erica. We had a blast as well. We got all dressed up in our finest and had a great time. We saw Nights in Rodanthi. It was such a good movie. Not a dry eye in the theatre when it was all done. Even the men were crying. I would definately go see that one again.

I have been reading Twilight. Such a good book. Have not been able to put it down. Started to read it Friday night and am almost finished with it. I bought the next book on Saturday. Can't wait till I start reading that one when I am done with this one. Let's just say I am in Love with Edward. The author described him so perfectly. I wish there was a man that did exsist like that. I would not care if he were a vampire.

Fall is on it's way! How I love fall. The crispness in the air. The colors of the leaves turning into oranges and reds. Halloween. Pumpkins. Getting cozy to read a good book. Turning those heaters on for the first time. The smell of someone burning wood in their fireplace. Turkey. I could go on and on. My favorite time of year. I wish it would last all year. Actually I wish I lived somewhere that was like that most of the time. I would be in heaven then. A girl can dream.

I've decided to make some changes in my life due to certain recent events. Well, if you have read the prior blog you will know that I am getting a divorce. I'm not to happy about but what can I do. He's made his decision. He has found another love interest. I just think to myself that he is her problem now. She can deal with him not helping around the house, not getting a job, sitting on his butt playing on the computer or whatever technical device he is using at the moment. His poor me stories. Him saying that she is controlling him when asking him to do something or mentioning that she has to get a job. Of course she doesn't have a job either. Now that I think about it they are made for each other. unemployed, waiting for someone else to take care of things. Playing that damn World of Warcraft all the time. Not cleaning house. Geesh. Maybe it's a good thing he left. I deserve so much better then that. I am not going to be dating any time soon though. Taking a break. I am in need of some much deserved me time. I will decorate my house and keep it cleaned the way I like it. If it's not clean when I get home it's only me to blame. Whew! I guess I have just seen the light at the end of the tunnel. I'm moving on. Having fun. And doing whatever I want. WOO HOO!!

Well, I think I have rambled on enough today! So, I will talk to you later. Well, that is whoever decides to pop in. I think only one lonely person has been by to check this out so pretty much this is just a journal. Only on-line.

Has it been that long?

Hello Everyone! I have been away for so long. I have been very busy.

So much has changed in my life.

First, I am currently going through a separation from my husband of 6 years. This will be my second divorce. Are there any good men left out there? I haven't the foggiest. For now I am trying to enjoy the single life. It's quite an adjustment. I still have days where I miss him terribly. Then there are other days that I enjoy having the house all to myself. I can do what I want. Decorate how I want and not wonder what he will think. I've got myself on a schedule now for daily doings. I know I will survive. It will take time.

Second, I have been very busy with my job. I have been filling in for our med clerk who has been absent due to her ailing daughter. There are times when it is very stressful and other times I enjoy every minute of it. If she ever did have to leave us for good I would be willing to take the position head on. I need a change. It is time for me to turn over a new leaf.

Well, I guess I will go and I shall post more as time goes on. I am going to make this part of my schedule...

HMMMM

OH HOW I WISH I WERE THIS LADY IN THE PICTURE ABOVE. SITTING THERE IN THE MORNING SUNLIGHT, ENJOYING A DELIGHTFUL BREAKFAST, AND READING THE DAILY JOURNAL. I WONDER WHAT HER NIGHT WAS LIKE. I'M SURE IT WAS NOT AT ALL LIKE MINE.

LAST NIGHT I COULD NOT SLEEP FOR THE LIFE OF ME. I JUST LAID THERE IN BED STARING AT THE CEILING PONDERING LIFE. THEN I DECIDED THAT I MIGHT AS WELL BE DOING SOMETHING WITH MY MIND SO I GRABBED MY SODUKU BOOK OFF MY NIGHT STAND AND BEGAN TO EXCERCISE MY BRAIN. I THOUGHT THIS FOR SURE WOULD MAKE ME TIRED. NOPE, NOT AT ALL. SO I POPPED IN A MOVIE AND WATCHED THAT FOR A WHILE. STILL, NOTHING. AAARRRGGGHHH! WHEN WELL THE MADNESS END? I LAID THERE, RESTLESS. WONDERING WHAT MUST BE WRONG WITH ME. EVER SO OFTEN LOOKING AT THE ALARM CLOCK. SIX, FIVE, FOUR, THREE HOURS TILL I HAVE TO GET UP. I THOUGHT TO MYSELF, "MY DAY IS GOING TO LONG AND I'M NOT GOING TO BE VERY GRACIOUS TO EVERYONE." WELL, I'LL HAVE YOU KNOW THAT I WAS QUITE THE OPPOSITE. I NEVER HAD MORE ENERGY FOR WORK IN MY LIFE. I WANTED TO GET UP. I WANTED TO GET TO WORK. I WANTED TO GET EVERYTHING DONE A.S.A.P.. I ACCOMPLISHED MOST OF MY GOALS FOR THE DAY. MADE APPOINTMENTS, PAPERWORK, JOBSITES, LUNCH, MEETING AT THE LAWYERS TO SIGN PAPERS, SHOPPING.

HOW IS IT THAT IF I GET EIGHT HOURS OF SLEEP, I'M SO TIRED AND DON'T GET A DARN THING ACCOMPLISHED, BUT I GET A WHOLE TWO HOURS IN I'M RUNNING AROUND LIKE SOMEONE HAS A HOT POKER UNDER MY HINEY.

THOSE ARE THE THINGS THAT MAKE YOU GO, HMMMMM.

HO HUM!

OH HOW I DREAM OF SPRING!

OVER THE WEEKEND, MOHTER NATURE TEASED US WITH SOM UNUSUALLY WARM WEATHER. IT ROSE TO THE MID 60'S! HOW I DREAMED OF SPRING. BRIGHT COLORS OF SPRING FLOWERS AND BRIGHT SHADES OF GREEN BLADES BURSTING FROM THE BROWN MUCK LEFT FROM OLD MAN WINTER.

BELIEVE IT OR NOT I DO SOMEWHAT ENJOY SPRING CLEANING. I LOVE TO OPEN ALL THE WINDOWS AND LET THE FRESH AIR WOFT THROUGH OUT THE HOUSE.

THIS YEAR HOWEVER WE WILL BE REMODELING A NEW HOME. WELL, NOT NEW, WE DID LIVE IN IT ONCE BEFORE. WE MOVED INTO ANOTHER HOUSE AND GAVE THE OLD HOUSE TO MY FOLKS. AFTER THEY HAVE BOTH PASSED ON I'VE BEEN LONGING TO BACK TO THE HOUSE. IT SORT OF REMINDS ME OF A SMALL COTTAGE.

OK, OK, FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO KNOW THE HOUSE MAY SAY IT DOESN'T LOOK MUCH LIKE A COTTAGE. BELIEVE ME WHEN I SAY, ONE DAY IT WILL AND I WILL BE THE ENVY OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD WITH SUCH A LOVELY HOME! I HAVE SO MANY PLANS FOR THE YARD AND DECORATIONS!

BOY DID WE GET HIT THIS YEAR!

I WOULD OF NEVER GUESSED THAT THIS WAS GOING TO HAPPEN.I KNOW, I KNOW, THE WEATHER MAN DID PREDICT IT. BUT WHENEVER ARE THEY RIGHT? I ADMIT I WAS SUPRISED. IT STARTED ON MONDAY AND DIDN'T STOP UNTIL WEDNESDAY. IT WAS VERY ODD. YOU COULD HEAR THE TREES MOANING UNDER THE WEIGHT OF THE ICE . THE HORRIBLE CRACKING SOUNDS OF THOSE LIMBS FALLING OFF. THE ELECTRICITY GOING OFF. WHAT A BETTER TIME TO CUDDLE UP WITH YOUR LOVED ONE WITH A NICE CUP OF HOT CHOCOLATE. READING TO EACH OTHER BY THE OIL LAMPS THAT DIMLY LIGHT YOUR LIVING ROOM. OH SORRY, LET ME SNAP BACK INTO REALITY. IT WAS FREEZING COLD. YOU COULD SEE YOUR BREATH. IT'S FUNNY HOW YOU GO TO DO SOMETHING AND YOU REALIZE YOU DON'T HAVE ANY ELECTRICITY. HOW I COULD NEVER IMAGINE LIVING BACK IN THE DAY OF NO ELECTRICITY. I'M PROUD TO BE SPOILED BY MODERN DAY NECCESITIES.
THE FOLLOWING FRIDAY WE WERE BLESSED WITH 13 " OF SNOW ON TOP OF THAT ICE. I HAVE NO PICTURES. SINCE IT HAPPENED ON THE WEEKEND I NEVER VENTURED OUTSIDE. I WAS A CHICKEN. I DIDN'T DARE GO OUT IN THAT STUFF. YES I DID FEEL A BIT NOSTALGIC ABOUT SLEDDING AND HAVING FUN IN THE SNOW. THEN I REALIZED I'M NOT THAT YOUNG ANYMORE AND THOUGHT JUST MAYBE I WOULDN'T TAKE MY CHANCES.
